Đảo Ngữ Nâng Cao 2 (Advanced Inversion Part 2) ​

Bài này mở rộng các trường hợp đảo ngữ nâng cao hơn: đảo ngữ với so/such, here/there, as, và các cấu trúc trang trọng trong văn viết học thuật.

1. Đảo ngữ với SO...THAT và SUCH...THAT ​

SO + tính từ/trạng từ + auxiliary + S + that ​

Dùng để nhấn mạnh mức độ:

Thông thường: The weather was so hot that we couldn't go outside.
Đảo ngữ:      So hot was the weather that we couldn't go outside.

Thông thường: She speaks so fluently that everyone admires her.
Đảo ngữ:      So fluently does she speak that everyone admires her.

SUCH + be + S + that ​

Thông thường: It was such a beautiful day that we went hiking.
Đảo ngữ:      Such was the beauty of the day that we went hiking.

Thông thường: His anger was such that he couldn't speak.
Đảo ngữ:      Such was his anger that he couldn't speak.

2. Đảo ngữ với HERE, THERE ​

Khi here/there đứng đầu câu và chủ ngữ là danh từ, xảy ra đảo ngữ:

Here comes the bus! (Xe buýt đến kìa!)
There goes the bell! (Chuông reo kìa!)

Here is your book.
There are your keys.

Lưu ý: Nếu chủ ngữ là đại từ (he, she, it, they), không đảo ngữ:

Here he comes. ✅
Here comes he. ❌

There she goes. ✅
There goes she. ❌

3. Đảo ngữ với AS (như, tuy) ​

So sánh: As + auxiliary + S ​

She is intelligent, as are her siblings.
(Cô ấy thông minh, như anh chị em của cô ấy.)

He works hard, as do most successful people.
(Anh ấy làm việc chăm chỉ, như hầu hết người thành công.)

Nhượng bộ: Adj/Adv + as + S + auxiliary = mặc dù ​

Rich as he is, he isn't happy.
(Mặc dù anh ấy giàu, anh ấy không hạnh phúc.)

Hard as she tried, she couldn't succeed.
(Mặc dù cô ấy cố gắng, cô ấy không thể thành công.)

Try as he might, he couldn't solve the problem.
(Dù có cố gắng thế nào, anh ấy không giải quyết được vấn đề.)

4. Đảo ngữ với NOT ONLY...BUT ALSO ​

Khi not only đứng đầu câu:

Not only did he arrive late, but he also forgot the documents.
(Không chỉ anh ấy đến muộn mà còn quên tài liệu.)

Not only is she beautiful, but she is also intelligent.
(Không chỉ cô ấy xinh đẹp mà còn thông minh.)

5. Đảo ngữ với NOT UNTIL ​

Thông thường: I didn't realize my mistake until it was too late.
Đảo ngữ:      Not until it was too late did I realize my mistake.

Thông thường: She didn't call until she arrived home.
Đảo ngữ:      Not until she arrived home did she call.

6. Đảo ngữ với ONLY + thời gian/cách thức ​

Only after the meeting did I understand the problem.
(Chỉ sau cuộc họp tôi mới hiểu vấn đề.)

Only when she smiled did he relax.
(Chỉ khi cô ấy cười anh ấy mới thư giãn.)

Only by working hard can you succeed.
(Chỉ bằng cách làm việc chăm chỉ bạn mới có thể thành công.)

Only then did the truth emerge.
(Chỉ lúc đó sự thật mới lộ ra.)

7. Đảo ngữ trong câu điều kiện ​

Điều kiện loại 1: Should + S + V ​

If you need help, let me know.
→ Should you need help, let me know.

Điều kiện loại 2: Were + S + to V ​

If I were you, I would accept.
→ Were I you, I would accept.

If the government were to increase taxes, people would complain.
→ Were the government to increase taxes, people would complain.

Điều kiện loại 3: Had + S + V3 ​

If I had known, I would have helped.
→ Had I known, I would have helped.

If she had studied harder, she would have passed.
→ Had she studied harder, she would have passed.

8. Đảo ngữ với các cụm trang trọng ​

Các cụm này thường dùng trong văn viết trang trọng:

Cụm từVí dụ

On no accountOn no account should you reveal the password.
In no wayIn no way does this reflect our views.
Under no circumstancesUnder no circumstances may you leave early.
